05/10/2007 - Communication to all club members and possible new members

So everybody knows the Haverhill & District Motorcycle Club has reduced its committee to just the minimum of three, the idea as agreed at the AGM down at the Rovers Football Cub social club room on Wednesday 5th of October 2007, the clubs activities and communications will be published on this official club forum, and if you want full access privilege's please ensure you join by completing the club application form on the home page of this website, this must then be forwarded to a committee member for signature of receipt and then you're forum login will receive full access. (in between meets your application form and monies can be left at the HPCB office) We will continue our monthly meet at the Haverhill Rovers Social club rooms on the first Wed on each month, this will run along the theme of a social evening, please bring along any other sort of entertainment, i.e. PS2/Xbox etc and enjoy an evening of laughs, obviously in the summer months it may be a short meet in the club room followed by a ride. All rides will be posted in the Forum calendar, and only members will be able to view this calendar and other areas of the forum. The members/committee agreed this was the best direction for the club. So use this forum as a centre of information and communication, to organise rides, converse with other likeminded friends and enjoy Motorcycles. So to allow new prospective members to access this Forum we will allow them guest access for a short period of time, for that possible new member to see the postings within the forum whilst they decide on full membership. Keep on the black stuff and shiny side up.

15/03/2007 - Easter Egg Run 2007

Haverhill motorcyclists are yet again out to put huge smiles on children’s faces. Chapter 125, part of Haverhill & District motorcycle club are organising an Easter egg collection for the main club in aid of The Priory Special needs Children’s school. A cavalcade of motorcycles will deliver the eggs on Thursday 29th March just before the end of term, leaving Haverhill at 6:30 from Ehringhausenway. The Priory school has boarding students and many more day students, it specialises in looking after the individual and specialist needs of children from all over the area who have complex to moderate learning difficulties. They provide a wide range of activities and support as well as academic tuition for the students. Non-club members riding any sized bike are welcome on the run, just as long as they bring an egg or two. Andy Shackcloth speaking for the C125 chapter said “ there are a lot of students needing smiles, we need a lot of eggs, Molly’s mum is bringing the extras in her people carrier, we would like to fill it up!!” Anybody else wishing to donate a medium sized egg, can leave them at one of the two drop off points, either at Millets (ask for Pete) in the high street or at Haverhill PC Bureau on Homefield road (www.hpcb.co.uk for directions). ‘Chapter 125’ is a new part of the club specifically for young 125cc riders, looking after their unique needs and offering help and advice. Anybody interested in more information can contact Andy Shackcloth on 01440 702763 about C125 or Glen Boyle on 07950 159833 for the main club.

Pictures are of Molly Daly holding eggs donated so far for the 2007 run; she is sitting on her fathers (Lee Daly) Honda CBR motorcycle outside their home. Molly’s mother (Angela Daly) will bring Molly in one of the support vehicles on the day. Molly is a day student of the Priory School and has to make the 17-mile run every day.’
